Ric Thom became a real estate broker in 1984. He also became involved in the business of buying and selling real estate contracts that same year. He started and became a principle in Security Escrow of Valenicia County in 1987. In 2001 he purchased the remaining shares in Security Escrow of Valenicia County and all of the stock in Security Escrow of Albuquerque from his friend and business partner Larry Buchmiller.Ric is involved in the day to day operations of the escrow company in addition to being very active in the real estate community. Ric has served as a director and the president of Valencia County Board of Realtors. He also served as a director of the Albuquerque Board of Realtors as well as a director of the Realtors Association of New Mexico. Ric was also recently named affiliate of the year to the Albuquerque Board of Realtors. Ric is also a certified instructor for the New Mexico Real Estate Commission’s continuing education program. He instructs the four hour course “Practical Application of Real Estate Contracts”, which he created. Ric Thom is recognized as one of the leading authorities in seller financing on real estate contracts.
